Autumn Joy

The Cobbler at Loch Long
I was blogging recently about the joys of autumn, which comes early here in Scotland. As soon as August wanders into September, I clear away all my summery clothes and delight in putting the warmer, cosy items into my wardrobe. It’s not as though we get that much summer, or sun, here but I can’t wait for the cooler weather to bring me more alive again after the detested lethargy of summer.

When discussing this with a few friends, we decided that perhaps we’re all influenced most by the season in which we were born. It certainly works for me, as I was a late October baby, and a friend who was born in May loves Spring best. I’m sure many of you will prove the idea wrong, but it might be an interesting addition to a character’s trait when writing!
So while many of my friends and family are bemoaning the passing of our fleeting summer months, I’m celebrating the arrival of my favourite time of year. And mind, body and soul are raring to go!

I liked fall best in Atlanta where the winters were short. You guessed it, I was born in July. I revel in our Florida heat. The humidity takes my hair to new heights!

LOL, well, I have to disagree with the birth month and favorite season connection. I was born in July, and I'm really not overly fond of summer at all - all that hot, muggy weather, YUK. But fall...now fall is my FAVORITE! The cool air, sweater weather, the beautiful colors on the trees - it's God's favorite too, I think! LOL

I was born in may but I luv autumn. The foliage gets me every time here in the east coast of the states.

Thanks for all the comments - I guess the theory doesn't hold up after all!
